Our Strategies
We work to protect our democracy through civic engagement – staying informed on key issues, creating and sharing opportunities for local action, and reaching out directly to voters. Many of our members are knocking on doors across the U.S.
We support several outstanding grassroots groups across the country to help build a national network of progressive activists and increase Democratic voter turnout. In 2024 we’re supporting groups in Arizona, Nevada, Wisconsin, Georgia, Pennsylvania & California.
Our members are involved in many areas of civic action including: fundraising, door knocking, phone banking, postcard & letter writing, direct contact with our neighbors at our local Farmer’s Market and more.
Who We Are
Organized in 2017 by neighbors in San Francisco’s Noe Valley, Action SF is an all-volunteer grassroots group that encourages political participation, education, and action to protect our democracy and promote a progressive Democratic agenda.
What We’ve Been Up To
Impact
In 2020, we achieved our goals of helping win the Presidency, flipping the Senate from Red to Blue and holding onto the House of Representatives. Each election cycle Action SF works to support Democratic wins in key national and state elections.
We also support several grassroots groups across the country to help build a national network of progressive activists.
We worked for the past six years to reach these goals by:
Creating the Red to Blue Senate Fund which raised $67,000 to flip the Senate seats in: AZ(W), GA(Wx2), CO(W), MI(W),Maine(L), NC(L) , IA(L).
Creating the Battleground 2020 campaigns which raised $48,000 for four swing state grassroots groups: Down Home North Carolina, Black Voters Matter (FL), Detroit Action (MI), and Pennsylvania Stands Up.
Writing approximately 7,400 postcards & letters to persuade and inform voters.
Phone banking, text banking, and ballot curing for months to encourage election participation.
Being active at the Noe Valley Farmers Market, on Social Media, and in local papers to raise awareness and promote civic engagement locally.
Working with sister groups – Bay Area Coalition, Democracy Action, Sister District, Swing Left, ResistanceLabs, Grassroots Democratic HQ, Airlift, and many more.
